Becoming a Patient

Often parents and individuals have questions about speech therapy for their children or loved ones.

They may include:

Hudson Valley Speech Therapy for Children

  • Am I proficient in a particular speech or language problem you worry your child may have?
  • How long are the sessions and how long does it take to ‘fix’ certain speech and language problems?
  • Will I be a good fit for your child or your loved one?
  • Can I work with your teenager?
  • Is your loved one beyond help after their stroke?
  • Can I help stave off the loss of speech in Parkinson’s disease?
  • Does cognitive rehabilitation help in dementia?
  • What does it cost and how long is therapeutic intervention?
  • Does my child need speech therapy?  Will they ‘grow out of it?’ (Often parents contact me after a speech language issue has been going on for quite a while, but they thought their child would ‘grow out of it.’  Unfortunately, sometimes pediatricians may say this also, when it may not be the case.)
  • My child can talk, but they just won’t talk in public, only at home.

I am happy to answer these and any other questions you may have. I also offer a 30-minute observation with you and your child, for a minimal fee, if you’re not sure that your child may have a speech language delay. Call me with questions.

Fees

I provide the necessary documentation and treatment codes for reimbursement and will help guide families through this process.

Most insurance companies provide 80 to 90 percent reimbursement. I may provide in-network services for some insurance companies. In addition, a percentage of my caseload I offer services through the Department of Education NYC as an Independent Provider. For those in need, I consider a sliding scale.

As I believe in giving back, five percent of my earnings I donate to NAMI (National Endowment of Mental Health) .

My son saw Patricia at United Nations International School over a period of 8 months or so. When he started he couldn’t be understood by anyone other than immediate family members. In the space of a few months he progressed enormously. He loved seeing Patricia – she made him comfortable and feel confident and he would come home happy and excited to share his progress. Patricia was great at keeping us updated about progress and assigning tasks at home to help him along, often sending videos of key moments of achievement which were amazing to have. She even helped in dealing with insurance – going above and beyond to help us with our providers. I would recommend her to anyone!”
