Meet Patricia Lee Rode, MA CCC-SLP

Patricia began her career over twenty years ago working at the NYU Langone Center’s Traumatic Brain Injury Unit and Children’s Center. Since that time Patricia has worked at hospitals, clinics, and in private practice. Early in her career she began to work with Early Intervention, and later with the Department of Education as an independent provider. Today Patricia offers both home based therapy and services at private schools, (including the UN International School, Nord Anglia International School NY, the British School New York, and others) in New York City, and in the Hudson Valley, where she resides. Patricia has vast experience in working with children from toddlers to teenagers focusing on speech language development, as well as adults needing rehab.

Patricia’s basis of speech language therapy is through her knowledge of neurology in conjunction with how the brain effects speech language development and speech production. .

She is PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Motor Phonetic Contacts) Trained Level II for many years and has used this modality with developmental verbal dyspraxia. She is also well versed in LSVT (Lee Silverman’s Voice Therapy) and since her early years in NYC, worked with Parkinson’s patients, as well as voice patients, both adults and children.

Patricia has been working with our family since our son was diagnosed with a speech disability at 21 months. I can’t describe how much Patricia and her work have meant to us. Patricia helped our son learn to talk through play; she has always been aware and accommodating of his needs as well as our needs as a family. I am so grateful to Patricia for all she has helped our son learn to do and for the loving support she has provided our family throughout the process. Patricia is an expert in her field, but she is also a loving, generous, understanding provider. I don’t know how our family would have navigated this difficult time without Patricia to help us.”
